The Hockey Source Welcomes Dr. Wayne Halliwell As Its Newest Subject Matter Expert
Markham, Ontario (ContentDesk) September 2, 2005 -- Canadian author Kevin V. Huhn, host of the new television series, The Source -The Ultimate Resource for Minor (THS), is pleased to welcome Dr. Wayne Halliwell, author, professor at the University of Montreal and sports psychologist of Canada, to the panel of Subject Matter Experts for The Source. Dr. Halliwell, who has worked with many world-class athletes in a number of individual and team sports, will bring his expertise to the field of mental preparation and conditioning for the world of minor hockey."(I'm) looking forward to contributing to The Source and demystifying the use of mental training in hockey," said Dr.

Halliwell, who holds a Masters degree from McGill University and a Ph.D. from Florida State University. "This is one topic in that we do not spend enough time on," stated Kevin Huhn, "making fun requires a certain kind of attitude, which all starts in the mind."During the past twenty five years of teaching sport psychology and conducting research, Wayne has written three books, presented at a number of international

conferences and attended many Olympic Games and World Championships as a consultant to Canada's National Teams. Dr. Halliwell works as a sport psychology consultant with several New England colleges and universities including Boston College, Dartmouth, Yale, Brown, Union, and Middlebury.   Another dimension of the newly appointed SME is his in-depth knowledge of hockey.

Wayne is a former US and Canadian university player, European professional player and a coach of university, college and minor hockey. This gives him an edge over others in his field.The Source television show is on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. (ET) on NHL Network and at 2:00 p.m. (ET) Sundays on FOX Sports Net New England.
