Lance Franklin helped Hawthorn to get its 4th victory during the season, with 9 goals, against Essendon during the match on past May 5th.
The player is now a popular star into the AFL, actually the conquest put him at the top of the Coleman standings after 23 goals in six games; taking Scott Lucas, one of the Bombers, off the first place.
Some of the players who reached to remain outstanding were Shane Crawford, Brad Sewell and Jordan Lewis, but a clean defense by Campbell Brown, during the second half, made his game appear fantastic. The best player from Essendon, Damien Peverill, reached 31 touches.
Franklin took the control of the game at quarter-time, and kicked 5 goals, while the Bombers were trying to handle the 8 points at the main break.
But it wasn’t enough; Franklin placed another 2 goals, keeping all the moves and the match under a solid control.
